Understanding Corporate Security
For veterans new to corporate security, understanding its practices broadens career prospects, making military skills like risk assessment and crisis management more effective. This knowledge aids in career decisions, professional development, networking, and gaining a competitive edge, ensuring versatility and job satisfaction.
Training & Certification
At LockBox, we engage with military members 18-12 months before their EAS date to guide them in corporate security practices, enrolling them in relevant online training. Veterans might need additional education or certifications to meet the requirements of certain civilian careers. Partnerships with training institutions enable GI Bill payment for certifications needed for employment.
Network Development
Veterans have access to other professionals and veterans with relevant experience for support during their acclimation. They will be able to develop a community of peers and friends who can guide them toward employment opportunities, events, and activities that help them engage effectively in their new civilian careers.
Career Advice
& Opportunities
We cultivate partnerships with service providers to facilitate veteran employment. Corporate Security offers the highest return on investment and upward mobility compared to fields like guarding security, for instance. Employers actively seek veterans for their experience and client preferences. We help veterans gain practical experience through project-based work, leading to long-term career opportunities.
Mentorship
& Coaching
Veterans can partner with a LockBox Mentor for guidance during their transition, receiving support in decision-making and network building. Mentors organize workshops focused on specific topics or areas, enhancing visibility and convenience for veterans and connecting them with peers, industry professionals, and recruitment experts.
Mental &
Emotional Health
LockBox nurtures relationships with mental and emotional health coaches to prioritize holistic well-being alongside professional growth. This ensures that veterans receive support not only in their career development but also in managing stress, maintaining resilience, and enhancing overall mental and emotional health. By addressing these aspects we aim to empower veterans to thrive in both their personal and professional lives.

Problem Solving
Problem Solving & Support
Mentors assist in problem-solving by sharing their experiences and helping mentees find effective solutions to challenges they encounter in their roles. A mentor can help establish a feedback mechanism where professionals can provide input on their experience, challenges, and suggestions for improvement. This can help refine the way mentors strategize their support.
Transition & Acclimation Support
Mentors play a pivotal role in supporting veterans during their transition to Corporate Security roles. They offer guidance on organizational dynamics, introduce veterans to key stakeholders, and assist in translating military skills and identifying training / development needs. Mentors help build professional networks, provide resume and interview preparation, and guide veterans through certification requirements. Emotional support and stress management techniques are offered, along with assistance in setting short-term and long-term career goals within the corporate security field and promoting continuous learning. Mentors share insights into corporate security practices, using proven and effective strategies. Additionally, mentors advocate for veterans within the industry and guide them in long-term career planning, contributing significantly to a successful transition.
Professional Development
Mentors provide a blend of advice, assistance in skill development, opportunities for networking, and continuous feedback, all aimed at encouraging growth and success. Mentors assist in long-term career development by helping mentees set goals, identify opportunities for advancement, and create a roadmap for their professional growth.
Stress Management
Mentors can play a significant role in assisting to maintain work-life balance. They share stress management techniques, guide decision-making processes, and help develop time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively. Mentors encourage breaks and rest to prevent burnout, assist in setting healthy boundaries between work and personal life, and support continuous learning efforts to encourage adaptability when/where needed. They also strategize healthy habits and create an open communication environment for discussing challenges.
